Seversky Tube Works (Seversk, Russia)
The Seversky Tube Works is one of the oldest metallurgical enterprises in Russia. It was founded in 1739. The main products of the plant are circular and shaped hot-rolled and arc-welded steel pipes. Seversky Tube Works pipe are used in oil and gas industry, during construction of pipelines of different applications, in machine-building industry, construction and communal services.
In 2009, there was commissioned a steel vacuum degassing treatment plant. Commissioning of this installation completed the construction of EAF melting complex at Seversky Tube Works where a ladle furnace, a continuous-casting plant and an electric arc furnace had been previously commissioned. The steel vacuum degasser ensured the decrease of gas content and non-metallic impurities in metal. This improved significantly the quality of continuous cast section used for production of seamless tubes not only at Seversky Tube Works but at Sinarsk Tube Plant as well (both parts of TMK). The construction of steel vacuum degassing plant started in March 2009 at the premises of the secondary refining area of the EAF melting shop and was carried out without shutdown of production process.
Finally, in October 2012, the employees of enterprise’s electrical shop completed the works on modernization of electrical power supply of this EAF melting shop area. The 10 kV switchgear cabinets ZS1 produced by ABB and busbar bridge ShZP -10-2500-81 U3 produced at our Ural plant were installed. The photos prove that the quality of our products complies with the highest European standards.
